Meet August Easton
Founder and Executive Director of Access to Assessment, August Easton is passionate about expanding access to educational resources and helping students reach their full potential.
Through her volunteer work with the Association to Benefit Children, August has worked with children of all ages, tutoring students, leading classroom activities, and supporting young learners with a wide range of academic needs. She also serves as a peer tutor at her school, where she helps students prepare for exams, strengthen their writing, and develop personalized learning strategies. These experiences have reinforced her belief that every student learns differently, and that there is no single approach to education that works for everyone.
Working closely with so many students has also shown August how difficult it can be for children with undiagnosed learning disabilities. Without access to a neuropsychological evaluation, many students struggle to understand why learning feels more challenging for them, often leading to frustration and a loss of confidence. Too often, the financial cost of these evaluations prevents families from accessing the support their children need.
This is why August founded Access to Assessment. She believes every student deserves the opportunity to understand how they learn. Through educational resources, partnerships with evaluation providers, and fundraising initiatives, Access to Assessment aims to reduce financial barriers to neuropsychological evaluations and help more students access the support they deserve.

Hi! I’m Rimsha, and I am the Director of Outreach & Fundraising at Access to Assessment. I support Access to Assessment’s mission because I believe that every child has the fundamental right to receive the help they need to support their learning and well-being.
When I first learned how expensive it can be to obtain a diagnosis, not to mention the cost of accessing support, services, and resources afterward, I was astonished.
Every child deserves access to a fair evaluation regardless of their background or financial circumstances. No child should be prevented from receiving the support they need because of financial barriers.
At Access to Assessment, we hope to bridge that gap by making evaluations more accessible to families who need them most. We hope you'll join us in making that vision a reality.
By grounding our work in research, I hope to raise awareness about the importance of accessible evaluations and contribute to expanding opportunities for students to receive the support and accommodations they deserve. I believe that understanding how each student learns is essential to helping every child reach their full potential.
Hello! My name is Orly Roberts, and I serve as the Director of Research for Access to Assessment. I am passionate about ensuring that every student has access to the resources they need to thrive academically.
Through my role, I research the barriers families face in obtaining neuropsychological evaluations, analyze the impact of early identification of learning differences, and help develop evidence-based resources that support our mission.

Hi! My name is Gabriella Pintaluga, and I’m from Miami, Florida. I am passionate about giving back to my community and making a positive impact in the lives of others, especially children. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, skiing, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.
I am excited to be part of the Access to Assessment team because I admire its mission of helping students and families gain access to the resources they need to succeed. I look forward to contributing to an organization that is creating meaningful change and empowering students to reach their full potential.

Hi! My name is Maia Bastianelli, and I’m from Rochester, New York. From the ages of 5 to 12, I raised money for children with disabilities by creating paintings and turning them into notecards, donating 100% of the proceeds to organizations that support kids with disabilities. Working with children has always been a huge part of my life.
In my free time, I enjoy babysitting, working at an after-school care program, serving as a summer camp counselor, volunteering with children in my community, fostering animals, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family. In college, I plan to major in Child Occupational Therapy because I am passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
I am excited to be a member of the Access to Assessment team because I believe every child deserves access to the evaluations, support, and resources they need to succeed. Too many students struggle simply because they are unable to access the testing and accommodations that could make a meaningful difference in their education. Hi, I’m Gita, and I’m from New York City. In my free time, I work at a dermatology office and have also gained experience in laboratory and research settings. I enjoy working with children, volunteering, and finding ways to make a positive difference in my community.
As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of having a learning disability, I understand how important it is for students to feel supported and understood, both inside and outside the classroom.
Every student deserves an equitable education that recognizes their individual strengths, needs, and learning style.
I am excited to support the mission of Access to Assessment and help create a more inclusive and accessible educational environment. As Director of Programs & Community Outreach, I hope to connect with students, families, and community organizations while helping develop initiatives that expand awareness and access to evaluations and educational support.
Hi! My name is Laisha Guerrero Acevedo, and I am honored to be involved with Access to Assessment. I believe every child deserves the chance to succeed in school and get the support they need to reach their goals. Education shapes a child’s future, but not all students have the same access to helpful resources that will help them thrive. neuropsychological evaluations can uncover why a student is struggling and give families and teachers a clearer picture of how that student learns.
As an incoming nursing student in college, I have always felt strongly about making sure children have access to the care, support, and opportunities they deserve. Over the past several years, my experiences working with nonprofits, tutoring children, and working at summer camps have allowed me to see firsthand how important education and positive support are in a child's life. These experiences have taught me that sometimes, having someone take the time to understand a child's individual needs can make all the difference.
I am passionate about being part of a mission that works to make these opportunities more available to children and families. I want to help support the goal of reducing the financial barriers that keep students from getting important evaluations and resources. I’m proud to be part of Access to Assessment and to support a mission that helps children understand themselves as learners and reach their full potential.
Educational Advisor
Dr. Mary Corbelli holds a Doctorate in Education from Vanderbilt University, a Master's Degree in Developmental & Educational Psychology, and Bachelor's Degrees in both Biology and Education from Boston College. She is a science educator and learning specialist who began her career in public schools and now has extensive experience in New York City Independent Schools, such as Trinity School and Bank Street School for Children.
In her private practice, Dr. Corbelli works with neurotypical and neurodiverse students and their families, not only as a tutor but also as a coach during decision-making regarding educational testing and in communicating with schools, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other specialists.
Dr. Corbelli centers both learning and social-emotional well-being in her work. She believes that no one should navigate educational uncertainty alone and that building a strong sense of self is central to the learning process.
